In 2021 I focused on a 100 Day Project that focused on daily portraits, using vibrant colors and textures. I wanted to work more with refrence images, while allowing myself to move closer to abstraction as well.

My father had just passed from Alzheimer’s, and I needed the space to process my grief, though I didn’t do that consciously. Looking at these pieces now, I can see the intensity of those emotions juxtaposed with the stillness of the figure’s pose and expression.
